Certified online teacher and program developer

You have a natural talent for engaging others, making them feel welcome, and honing in on what motivates them to further explore and contribute to discussions. You care for both the person and the perspective, and I enjoyed watching how well you relate to all you encounter. (Sandy Wagner, TESOL certificate program coordinator and lead facilitator)

About

In December 2018 I was awarded the TESOL Certificate: Developing an Online Teaching Program and received 20 Continuing Education Units for completing an intensive, 6-month, 200-hour program made of:
  • 60-hour Best Practices of Online English Language Teaching course
  • 60-hour Online/Mobile Support for English Language Core Competencies Development course
  • 60-hour Planning, Organizing, Delivering an Online Course
  • 20-hour Capstone: Putting the Principles into Practice

It was a LOT of work and definitely more hours than specified. The journey was hard and slow at times, immediately rewarding for the most part, and all of it worthwhile. Reflection and feedback were embedded throughout the process.

I feel accomplished, proud, and ready to go! I am also appreciative of everyone involved, facilitators and participants alike, some of whom are now my friends. I wholeheartedly recommend this program to any language teacher interested in the nitty-gritty of online instruction(al design). Also, I join other alumni in saying that this program inspires us to become better teachers all around, both online and face-to-face.
